IN STOCK! We just received a brand new Fox model 900 contrabassoon with extra key work: Rollers on the LH C to E-flat, alt E-flat touch on RH thumb (still has alt E-flat RH index finger), alt C# LH thumb next to the top octave vent. $40,760 with this configuration.

The Fox Model 900 contrabassoon was introduced in 1971 and continues to be preferred by the most discriminating performers in premier orchestras, opera companies, music schools and conservatories all over the world. Select, aged maple body, removable inner U-tubes, full German key system with silver plating, alternate right little finger F♯ and right forefinger Eb, right little finger F and Ab rollers, left little finger Eb and Db rollers, water key on tuning slide. Comes with two Fox contrabassoon bocals, premium aluminum shell case, custom made for Fox contrabassoons, two contrabassoon reeds, end pin, fingering chart. Additional options:Maple finished in mahogany or ebony color.

Bocal Majority typically adds the following by default to contrabassoons we have ordered from Fox, which does increase the price to $40,760:

1) Rollers on the left hand C to E-flat keys

2) Alternate E-flat touch on right hand thumb (still comes with alt E-flat right index finger too!)

3) Alternate touch C-sharp on left thumb next to the top octave vent key
